About The Inn
Come and experience beachy Cape Cod, known as the vacationland of New England, at the Seashell Motel. The Seashell is a quaint motel that has its own private sandy beach lined with comfy lounge chairs and offers a small, but delicious continental breakfast seasonally from the end of June through Labor Day. This family-run sixteen-unit motel offers rooms and suites, of which many have private balconies and oceanfront views.

At the Seashell Motel, we are here to provide you with finest resort, beach, and customer service on Cape Cod. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff will be glad to assist you with anything that you may need to help you enjoy your vacation. Air conditioning, heat, bathroom essentials, continental breakfast, beach yoga, cable TV, WiFi and one parking space per unit are included. We kindly ask that you please bring your own beach towels and umbrellas.
The Seashell is open seasonally from May through October 31st, offering peak and off-peak season rates.
Pet-Friendly
We are one of the few inns on Cape Cod that accommodates pets. All rooms,except 10, 11, & 12, are pet-friendly. There is an extra charge of $25 per night per pet. There are no size limitations. We accept well-behaved and trained pets.
Pets are NOT allowed on the private beach at any time from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. We do not guarantee early check-ins before 4 PM, so please plan arrival with your pet accordingly. All animals must be leashed on-site and are not to be left in the rooms for long periods of time. If neglected or loud, we have the right to ask you to leave or contact local authorities.
A Strong Family History
The inn has been family-owned and operated for the last 35 years. Together, parents, children, and future generations come to manage the operations of the inn. The family also own By the Sea Guests next door and An English Garden Bed & Breakfast down the road. The doors of the inn welcome all guests from both close and afar. The Narbonnes have plenty of hospitality industry experience and know the area in and out. Although many updates and improvements are made each year, its original structure, authenticity, and historical New England charm are still intact today, one of the many reasons for why guests return each year.
Breakfast
Experience our seasonal continental breakfast in our breakfast room or take it outside to enjoy on the sun porch. We begin your day with coffee, tea, and a small continental buffet, inclusive of pastries or bagels. Breakfast is served from the last weekend of June through Labor Day.
Beach Essentials
Beach lounge chairs are complimentary to all guests. Please bring your own beach towels and umbrellas.
Policies
Contactless Check-In:
- Check-In: 4 PM
- Check-in is contactless. Check-in instructions can be found in the confirmation email.
- The credit card on file will be charged the remaining balance the day before check-in.
- No need to contact us if arriving after hours. We are contactless so you can check-in 24/7.
- We do not provide early check-in or late checkout so please plan accordingly. We do not have petsitting facilities, luggage storage, or refrigeration, and pets are not allowed on the beach Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Contactless Checkout:
- Checkout: 11 AM
- You may leave the keys locked in the room or drop off at the front desk if it is open.
No Show:
- The total balance will be charged for no show reservations.
Cancellation:
If the reservation is cancelled 15 days or more before arrival, the deposit is refunded, less a $100 cancellation fee.. If less than 15 days, the deposit is non-refundable.
Deposit:
- We require a 40% deposit upfront to hold a room.
- If it’s a 1 night stay, we charge the entire night’s stay upfront as the deposit.
Minimum Nights:
- All rooms have a 2 night minimum.
- We will rarely allow 1 night stays. It is the hotel’s discretion.
Non-Smoking:
- All rooms and guest spaces are non-smoking.
- We have one designated area on-site near the parking lot.
Pets:
- All rooms, except 10, 11, and 12 are pet-friendly.
- It is $25 per night per pet to bring a pet.
- Well-behaved pets only. No size restrictions.
- Please don't leave the pets in the rooms for long periods of time.
- Incidental charges incur if pet is very loud for long periods of time, large messes, damages, etc.
- Please pick up after your pet. Poop bags are available on-site.
- Dogs are not allowed on the beach at any time from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.
Quiet Hours:
- Quiet hours are in effect from 10 PM until 8 AM.
- Although our amenities stay open, please be respectful of other guests staying with us.
Incidentals:
- We automatically charge the card on file incidental fees for lost keys, missing items, damages, messes, unruly, loud, or offensive behavior, smoking, pets, postage for lost items, etc.
- We have the right to ask guests to leave if any of our policies are not adhered to.
Extra Person Fee:
- Some rooms may be able to accommodate an additional person for an extra fee of $59 per night.
- Cots, cribs, and travel packs are available for a fee. Please reserve in advance.
